STITCHER is a life changer for those of us who like radio and the spoken word as teacher.  I listen to New York Public Radio whenever I can, but the ability to listen easily to all your favorite radio shows AND podcasts either in "real time" or time shifted to when YOU want to listen - ahhhh, there's the promised land!  And to be able to "stitch" together ALL your favorite shows and podcasts into collections of favorite stations that YOU create... You see where this is going, right?  Listen to whatever you want, whenever and wherever, via your mobile devices or computers.  Stitcher also gives you recommendations based upon what you've liked, so you can expand your knowledge and enjoyment in so many ways.  It is the Pandora of radio/podcasts.

   Speaking of podcasts, some of the best information from experts in all domains is now available in podcast form.  The problem has been that you'd need to go to iTunes, find the podcasts, subscribe to them, download, etc.  Stitcher serves them up with none of that.  And it is free!  OK, they have now put some banners on, and there is an occasional voiceover commercial, but even "public" TV and radio have commercials or pitches for money.  Forgive and enjoy.

   I've created a Health favorite station with many great diet, exercise and alternative medical experts' podcasts, one for Buddhist dharma talks, one for Politics, and one for a collection of all my favorite NPR shows so I don't have to worry about missing a weekend of Car Talk or This American Life.  I've recently gotten into Storytelling podcasts like the "Moth" and some from Britain.  The good part of this, for me, is that you can put in your ear buds and DO everything you need to while listening happily.
