Little Reviews of Cool Stuff

A Roku box for your TV

For the low price of $59, you can get a little box from Roku that allows you to stream Netflix movies, play Pandora using your TV and sound system, and much more.  As you probably know, Netflix has the capacity to stream many, not all, of their movie catalog to your TV or computer.  For the TV, you either need a dedicated computer, your laptop, or the little Roku box.  I have tried all the above and highly recommend springing for the Roku box.  For the $10 monthly Netflix fee you will have access to a growing number of movies from Netflix – as many as you can watch for the same $10.  For those not streaming, you will order the DVD and wait.  Many full seasons of TV shows are also available this way.  If you use Hulu Plus (coming soon to Roku) or Amazon Video on Demand (small fees) you can get most current shows not on Netflix.  It means you can sit down to watch something you want to watch.
