Officially speaking, Lambert's OQ-45.2 measures client progress in therapy, and is designed to be repeatedly administered during the course of therapy. The total score is calculated by summing the client's ratings across all 45 items. The higher the total score, the more troubled the individual. Five critical items provide screening for suicide, substance abuse, and violence at work. The OQ demonstrates high levels of reliability and validity. OQ scores have been shown to be responsive

to counseling related changes. Lambert and colleagues have recently demonstrated that providing OQ feedback to clinicians significantly enhances outcome.
At Western Michigan University, the OQ is administered to all adult clients at intake, 3rd session, and termination. Just an up date on plans for our mid-year gathering. We will be meeting March 14-15 in Houston at the Embassy Suites Hotel near the Galleria. I think we will have some exciting presentations that are responsive to members' needs (see sidebar).
The business meeting will begin at 1:00 p. m. on Friday. We will plan on dining together at the Galleria that night. The meeting should rap up by 5 on Saturday; but for those who would like to stay over, there is plenty to do in Houston on Saturday night
