ADPTC SURVEY

ADPTC is planning an extensive survey of clinics.  Rob Heffer has provided an update on the development of the survey.

The Survey Committee (Tony Cellucci, Rob Heffer, Kim Lassiter, Vic Pantesco, Bobbi Vollmer) met during the ADPTC 2002 Annual Meeting in Chicago.  Earlier in the summer, Kim organized a small pilot survey of the paper and pencil version of the current draft. Helpful feedback was received regarding the content and format of the questions.

In Chicago, the Survey Committee presented to the Executive Committee recommendations to develop a web-based version of the survey.  Given the length of a membership survey designed to

gather useful information about the range of training clinics and clinic director positions, procedures will be designed to allow a respondent to complete a section or two at a time and then return later to complete other sections.

At present, information is being gathered regarding the most cost-effective methods to develop a top-quality web-based survey.  The resultant data from the survey will be disseminated to ADPTC members in several reports to use as they develop procedures in their own clinics and strategize for optimizing their satisfaction with their director positions.  In addition, the data may be used to generate manuscripts for submission to

journals such as Professional Psychology: Research and Practice.

The current time line is to identify the person(s) who will actually develop and maintain the web-based survey and have a version to pilot with a sample of ADPTC members by the end of 2002.  Pilot surveys and feedback will be gathered in early 2003, with the first sections of the final version of the survey to be available for completion by ADPTC membership during Spring 2003.

A number of new resources have been added to the web page, including the ADPTC's latest version of our Guidelines for Psychology Training Clinics. I would like to thank all the Directors who forwarded materials for me to post.  Please continue to send things to me (electronically, preferably as Word files) as they become available.

We are working on a search feature so that people can more easily find what they are looking for in the Members' Re

sources, since it is often the case that specific items are embedded in large files.  For example, you might want to find a certain type of form, and think there are not many available because there are not many listed under that specific heading, but this might be simply because what you are looking for is commonly embedded in a larger manual or series of forms. This component should be working shortly.

With Tony Cellucci's help, we have been updating

our web site's list of contact information for all our members, including the Clinic web page addresses that I've been collecting.  Directors should make a point of checking that section (Training Clinic Web Pages) to make sure we've listed the information for your clinic properly.
